California Condors visit a California Home
#1
A flock of 15-20 Condors has landed on someone's  deck in California. Days later they have trashed everything in sight and they are still there.
Fish and Wildlife pointed out to the home owner that the house is in an historical Condor habitat. It feels normal to the birds to hang around and feed in the area.

I know it must be hard to have your place totally messed up except for the fact that it is California Condors!
The home owner has 10% of the state's Condors on her deck. What an incredible opportunity. Most people will never see a Condor in the wild. She has more than a dozen birds right there, on her deck.  These birds are incredible. They have a 9 1/2 ft wing span. Even if they are rowdy, it is the chance of a life time.
Unless of course the birds are planning to nest in the area.  In which case, get used to it.

Quick Condor update.

It looks like there could be a good hatching this year.
Last year some of the babies were lost in the fire that destroyed the condor sanctuary. I notice that Iniko is still okay. Last summer we watched the web cam  as he sat alone in his nest, with the fire approaching. When the fire burned out the web cam it was many days before we found out that Iniko was still alive.
Sadly 9 Condors died in the fire.

I think if I had 20 Condors on my deck I would overjoyed.
