Hoping Nowzad Animal Rescue in Kabul is okay...

This is not a good news situation.  There is another animal rescue in the same danger as Nowzad.  It don't know if they have any chance of escape. 
I don't think they are too hopeful.

This is the most recent article I could find about Pen Farthing.  I know as I post this the situation has already changed. It is Friday, early morning in Afghanistan and anything could have happened.

I keep hoping for good news and fearing the worst.

It was a diplomatic car. It could be replaced. This how many people could have taken its place. Think how many people could ride in the same privately chartered plane as the animals. The animals wouldn't be taking people's places. The animals would be creating places for people.

I don't suppose it is possible to screen everyone properly in a mass evacuation like this. A better screening would need to be done once people are safely evacuated. The animals of course are perfectly fine. They just need to be quarantined and there are people prepared to do that so the animals are no danger to anyone.

Let's hope the next thing we hear is good news.

If they can get the plane there and they can reach the airport, this rescue is possible.
