Woman forces husband to give up 18 year old cat.

A newly married couple were having trouble with their pets. The woman's 3 year old dog and the man's 18 year old cat were not getting along. 
When she became pregnant, she pushed her husband into getting rid of his 18 year old cat.
The woman has since found that social media is not in favour of what she did.

I think the wife was selfish, but she was also mean. That cat was 18 and had been with the man for years. Even if her husband could deal with giving up his cat, what about the cat. A cat that old with such a short time left should not have to try and cope with life in an animal shelter surrounded by strangers. Her dog could even have stayed with family for the short amount of time the cat has left. A young dog like that would be okay with change.
I hate to think of how sad the cat must feel. It has no way of understanding why, after a life time as a loving pet, it is suddenly dumped among strangers. 
I don't think I would trust the wife after that.
