Who would have thought in the early-mid 1800s that slavery would be abolished? Progress takes time. The video you cite is a good example of "progress made - and yet more to come".

Note: Cancer Research Wales does not use animals in research, nor does it fund it. Conversely, Cancer Research UK *does* use animals.

The use of animals is now outdated and unnecessary in this modern day of cell culture research. Plus animal physiology is not identical to human, so any so called "results" from animal research are highly questionable, even dangerous, when applied to humans. The thalidomide disaster is one terrible example of what happened when they relied on animal testing for use in humans. I even knew one teacher who was disabled because his mother was given thalidomide when she was pregnant (based on so-called "safe" animal testing).
