Fireworks!
#1
I have copied this from an email from my local Neighbourhood Watch Group, so hope it transfers onto the forum.

FIREWORKS

Please let your neighbours know if you are having fireworks, especially those who have pets or if there are horses or livestock in fields near you.  Remember the sound of fireworks travels a long way and can frighten pets, wildlife and animals grazing in fields or even in barns (as happened a few years ago when a local farmer was very fortunate to avoid serious injury after fireworks terrified his cattle in their barn).  If you are planning fireworks on a different evening from Bonfire Night, please also warn your neighbours, local farmers and horse owners so they can take extra precautions to try and keep their animals safe on that date as well.

Also check around your area for farm animals in fields in case any have recently been moved there.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 it is illegal to light fireworks near fields or homes containing horses and livestock.

If you are thinking about having Fireworks this year, please consider buying the more wildlife, livestock and pet (and human) friendly silent fireworks.  Remember the noise from fireworks can travel quite a distance and debris produced by fireworks can also pose a hazard to horses, farm livestock and wildlife if found on the land.
