Two more Right Whales were found entangled. Fortunately they were both freed.
The gear entangling one whale was Canadian. It is not clear where the other gear came from.

It is clear however that we must step up our efforts to retrieve ghost gear, fishing gear that has been lost.
There is still so much fishing gear in the ocean causing whale deaths, turtle deaths, sea bird deaths and the deaths of anything else that lives in the oceans.
These two whales were lucky. They were freed. Many whales are not so lucky. They suffer a slow death as the gear weighs them down and makes it hard to swim and to feed.
This is just part of what we need to do to clean up the oceans, but it is an important part. We also need to stop dumping things in the ocean.
