Alligator Snapping Turtle found in English lake
#1
An alligator snapping turtle was found in a lake in England. Alligator Snapping turtles are native to the southern USA.
The turtle was captured and is being cared for. She has been called Fluffy and will end up in a zoo or with a private keeper.
Eventually she would be as much as 80 kilos  and a very large powerful turtle. She could eat anything she wanted and would have done a lot of ecological damage.

Most likely she is yet another abandoned pet. As babies, turtles are very cute. Unfortunately people want the cute little turtle, but when they grow bigger they don't want it any more. Alligator Snapping turtled grow very big and they can really bite. They are not a cute pet, they are a wild turtle that belongs in its native habitat. Sadly Fluffy can't go home because there is no way to know where her native habitat is. She could do well in a zoo that has a large pond where she can swim and live out her life in peace.

They really are an amazing turtle. I have seen them and they are interesting.
