Its a Girl!

The Toronto Zoo newborn Gorilla is a little girl.

She is so pretty. I hope they find her a pretty name.

Gorgeous girl! I was going to suggest the name "Maia"...but I hear they need an African name beginning with 'N'.
I don't really know any African names for girls. Two African women I knew once had English names...Caroline and Jenny.

Maia is a pretty name, but they have a naming system. The babies name has the same first letter as the mother's name. It is a way of keeping track of the family relationships. Charles has children with two other females.
Ngozi is young and pretty and she is a great mom.
Samantha and Josephine were good moms too. Sam died of a stroke a couple of years ago, but Josephine is a grand old lady and does enjoy having new babies around. Gorilla moms hold their babies continually for months.

Josephine and Charles have a son at the Cincinnati Zoo. He has some fine children of his own.


Anyhow, I hope they find a pretty name. I can't think of one. After all the animals I have named you would think I could come up with one more name.
