Strange tracks in the snow lead to an animal in trouble

Out of curiosity a couple in Scotland followed a strange track  in the snow. It led to a hedgehog in trouble. Hedgehogs are not usually active when it is cold.
This hedgehog had gone to a feeder because he was starving. He fell asleep and being found saved his life. He is now at the Highland Wildlife Rescue.

The poor little hedgehog had parasites.  That is why he was so thin and weak. Keeping him warm, hydrated, fed and treating his parasites is making all the difference.
He will continue to recover and in the spring he can return to his home, to live out his natural life.
Good thing someone was willing to check some strange tracks and see what made them. For one little hedgehog it was a matter of life or death.
