African Tortoise found in Manitoba marsh

Molly  the African Spurred Tortoise was spotted in a Manitoba marsh. Manitoba does not have any animals like that.
Once she was safely captured they found her people through social media. Molly was 20km from home.
Her people were happy to have her back. They raised her from a baby and she has been with them 15 years.
She slipped out while some renovations were being done.

The big question is, how did she end up 20km away at Oak Hammock Marsh.
Did Molly really walk that far on her own or did some well meaning person think she needed to be in a marsh.
Molly is an African, desert tortoise so a marsh was not the right idea.
Before you choose to help wildlife, it is best to positively identify the species.
Being in a marsh could have ended badly for Molly. It was fortunate that she was seen by someone who knew what she is.
