10 animal rights victories of 2014
#4
I am so glad to hear of these changes. Some people are loath to change their ways, but education about animal cruelty, and where exactly their clothing/meat comes from, can help them to understand, and make powerful decisions.

The other night I was talking to my aunt on the phone. She was telling me about a favourite hat and how expensive it had been, but good quality, and warm for this weather. It is made from Angora fur. It was very hard for me to do, but I had to mention that the rabbits are treated horrendously and their fur not just generously given, or cut tenderly with scissors, and a lot of care.
People don't like to hear those things. You spoil their day if you tell them. But she had no idea. And now she has. I feel bad in one way but how could I say nothing?
