Canadian Animal Blood Bank

I can remember years ago with a sick animal asking why can't we get a blood donor. It seems that wish has come true. There is now an animal blood bank. It look like they are working with dogs right now. I only know about the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. There may be others or at least plans for others.
This is an important step in veterinary care. Lives will be saved because blood is available when needed.

Dogs being the marvelous creatures that they are, I am sure that they are willing to help another dog in need.

This is very good. There is a canine blood bank in my area (well quite a few miles away actually -in Bristol I think)
We almost had to use it once, but didn't in the end.

Donor dogs can definitely help save lives.

It will be great if they can create a whole network of Animal Blood Banks. Maybe they can have dogs on a list that can be called to give blood in an emergency or when they need a special blood type.

I think there are a number of conditions that can be treated if there is blood available. We have the technology. Why shouldn't our pets benefit.
