Once again, well meaning people are "helping" turtles and creating a problem.
People who see a turtle out of water are rushing it to an animal shelter. The turtle was going somewhere and should be left alone. It is particularly bad when they "rescue" females who were just trying to lay eggs.

Reptiles can't get a break. Mostly people mean to harm them. When they finally have people who care, they help in ways that are not helpful.
