There is an impressive effort being made to protect the Western Painted Turtles in British Columbia.
They have had to dig the eggs up and move them because of a coal spill. The spill might have been a problem, the machinery to clean up the spill certainly would have been too much.
They have had to move them again and they will need new sand.

Poor little turtles, but good thing there are people there to help them.
Ideally people would stop destroying their habitat with things like coal spills.
