Orangutan a proud first time mom.

I came across an article about Jahe the Orangutan. She was born at Toronto Zoo and I watched her grow up. She helped her older mom to raise her baby brother.
Now she lives at Memphis zoo and I was happy to hear that she has her own baby boy.

She is a wonderful mom. I knew she would be. She is very happy  and proud of her new baby. We miss her in Toronto, but she seems to have found a life in Memphis.

The climate is so different, hopefully she's happy there.

It gets as hot and humid in Toronto in the summer and I thin the winters are better. I think they have a nice set up in Memphis and of course they had a male that Jahe was not related to so she could breed with him. She was so good with her baby brother. Her mom is an older orangutan and she was glad to have help with the last baby.

Now that she has a baby of her own Jahe can draw on all the hours she spent with Budi to guide her actions. She is a beautiful girl and a wonderful mother.
