Purina honors dog who saved woman from fire
#1
Purina honours heroic pets every year. This year they are honouring Rex.

Noreen was unwell and had taken something to help her sleep. Rex not only barked to wake his person when the fire occurred. He dragged her across the floor trying to get her to safety. The house was a total loss, but the woman and dog got out alive.

Rex was determined and he was a successful rescuer. A dog like that deserves to be honoured.

Every year they find a number of animals like Rex who saved lives and helped people.

There is no doubt that animals, especially dogs look out for us. We have a planet full four footed guardian angels. Angel

It's amazing to hear these stories of untrained dogs saving their owners. Dogs are so much smarter than we give them credit.

You are right, the dog wasn't trained for rescue. He was just using his instincts. He recognized a danger and was determined to save the woman from it.  That makes it even more special as a rescue.
