Edmonton car dealership overrun with bunnies
#1
An Edmonton car dealership has been overrun with rabbits when a local farmer moved away and rabbits were left behind. They ran wild and multiplied and were getting killed on the road and generally not doing very well.

Fortunately someone stepped in and rescued the bunnies and has been finding homes for them.

It sounds like the situation is under control and most of the rabbits have homes already. They are certainly safer and getting better care.
It never ends well when people turn their rabbits loose. If it were not for a caring person stepping in to help this situation would have ended badly.  Once again thoughtless people created a situation that others had to fix.

People can be under the misapprehension that turning domesticated animals loose works! Of course it never does! They become roadkill, fox dinner....etc. They do not have the genetic programming to live wild. "Domestic" animals have been bred for a long time NOT to be wild.
Thank goodness there is some attention to them and some help. Edmonton is doing well there. Goodness knows who that "Edmonton Person" was who caused that mayhem in the first place, though!

It is so cold in Edmonton in the winter that most of them wouldn't stand a chance. They are not the same type of rabbits as the wild ones who live in the area.
People are so careless about rabbits and Guinea pigs. They get turned loose to fend for themselves all the time.  In this one time they found a way to multiply, but mostly they don't survive.

Surtely the farmer who deserted them all ought to be sought out? He has caused misery for the rabbits and a lot of work for other humans to sort out his/her desertion.

Thank goodness there were kind people to care for them!

I wonder if they were his rabbits or were they rabbits abandoned on his farm that he looked after until he moved.
Either way they shouldn't have been left out there to fend for themselves.
