Parrots require special care and live very long lives(some species). That means they are prone to being improperly cared for resulting in serious health issues. People also tire of a pet that seems to go on and on. Fortunately there are parrot rescues.
Tallgrass sounds like a marvelous place that is working miracles to bring health and happiness to the birds they take in.

I love the little sweaters the featherless birds are wearing. They are too cute. They also help the birds to recover. 
If only people would think before they get a parrot(or related bird species) as a pet. They make marvelous pets. They are sensitive and intelligent. If only people would ask themselves if they are prepared to do what is needed to keep the bird healthy for as long as the bird can live.

If they really want a bird, there are easier birds to keep than a parrot.
