Misty slept IN the bed! She liked to burrow under the covers and for years that is how we slept, and it was our way. We were sisters. Of course, if ever she got muddy on a walk, she had to have feet and underbelly washed and dried off before she got in bed with me! She didn't like the water-thing but that was the rule!
I can't see that sleeping with a (clean) animal is any more disturbing than sleeping with a human. Lots of people sleep with other people....why not animals?
