Orangutans in need.

International Animal Rescue is working to help the orangutans. Orangtans are under attack because of deforestation caused by the palm oil industry.
It is horrible and tragic what happens to orangutans when their forests are set on fire.

The babies end up as orphans and are often sold as pets.

This baby was lucky, he was rescued from his captivity and taken to a rehabilitation centre.

Orangutans are also being killed and eaten by the palm oil plantation workers.

I can't believe anyone would kill and eat and orangutan. It seems like a form of cannibalism. They are so like us. Is there no limit to what a hunter will kill?

Fortunately there are sometimes good things happening to orangutans.
It is beautiful to watch rescued orangutans being released back into the forest. There is a hopeful future for these beautiful creatures. If only it could be true for all of them.

There is a better way to produce palm oil. It doesn't have to destroy everything.

Of course better yet, we need to shop carefully and reject palm oil especially if it comes from non sustainable plantations.
