Pipsqueakery to the rescue
#1
Pipsqueakery is a special rescue that is primarily a hamster rescue, but they also have gerbils, chinchillas, mice and guinea pigs.
They help out the little animals that sometimes don't do well in the bigger shelters.

This proved to be true when 200 hundred hamsters were surrendered (100 each day) over a two day period to the Flagler County, Florida Animal Shelter. They immediately killed all the females, both days, even though they were told that Pipsqueakery would take them all.
That left some little hamsters without their mothers. It was a mess and killing the females was not only unfair and unnecessary, it complicated things. Those girls were healthy. They didn't need to die. Basically they killed a hundred hamsters right away without even thinking it through.

Hamsters don't do well in big shelters. They are not respected as pets or given proper consideration. I am sure homes can be found for all the hamsters. There was no need for a mass slaughter.

Good for Pipsqueakery that they came to the rescue of the male hamsters. I wish them well with their fundraising and rehoming of hamsters.
