The sleep cycle: an animated video about hibernation
It is not just an animated video, it is a musical video. It is cleverly done and the use of music is creative.

Many of the animals I normally encounter are hibernators. Without hibernation we would have few animals survive our Canadian winters. Now I am going to find myself thinking of what instrument goes with each animal I encounter.
The squirrels should be a piccolo. I will have to think about raccoons and coyotes.

Interesting....but I think an animal symphony could be even better. But I was interested in the facts about hibernation, many of which I didn't know. Also I think the Bassoon would have been better for Bears
Coyote.... ? Crumhorn? (for what a Crumhorn sounds like) Smile

Actually, I think this whole ensemble sounds rather like a Coyote might be:

But that would be a Coyote who is awake....
Don't get me started. I could go on like this for a long time....
I forgot I posted this and I looked at the title and thought what is this all about.

I had no idea what a crumhorn is until I followed the link. I have heard them before and now I know what they are called.
I think crumhorn works for a coyote or even a small pack of coyotes. Of course not when they are howling.  Is there an instrument that compares to a coyote howling?

I think the orchestra is more like a pack of Canada Geese or a group of Mallard  ducks.

Clarinet for the raccoons makes sense.
I wonder what would work for deer. What do you think, strings or brass? The moose would have to be something like a bass fiddle. That would make deer a cello.
We could get a whole orchestra going just thinking about it.
