Mega adoption event for abandoned pets store animals

Word went out that a pet store at West Edmonton Mall had abandoned its animals. There were over 500 animals in the store and the Edmonton Humane Society  went in and seized the animals. There were everything from fish, to birds to reptiles and various small animals. With the help of donations from the community they were able to meet the needs of all the animals. 
That is impressive!

Now after assessing the animals they held a mega adoption event to find them all homes. People lined up for hours before the event began and when the doors finally closed all the animals  were gone. Even the scorpion was adopted!

It is terrible that the animals were abandoned, but it all turned out okay. The Edmonton Humane Society and the people of Edmonton rose to the occasion. That is a lot of animals for a shelter to take on at once and that is a lot of animals to find homes in one event. I am impressed and I am happy for all the owners and their new pets starting out their lives together. I wish them well.
