Claire and Rey are gone

It is going to be a sad time for you. Rats have such short lives. I am glad that Bullet can make Leia feel less lonely.
You can at least keep Padme comfortable and you know you gave her a good life. 

It takes a special person to rescue an older pet with a short life span. Some days it must feel like the Rainbow bridge has a permanent link to your place.

I have four older guinea pigs. Two of them are shrinking right before my eyes. Rodents are wonderful and like you I love them as pets, but there is a sadness in watching how fast their lives move on. Martha was a large sow in her prime and now she is a frail old lady who is half her size. Guinea pigs shrink as they age.

I know what you are going through and I hope for all our rodent friends the passing is gentle and loving. It is all we have left.
