Pets at Home won't sell you a bunny this Easter
#1
Pets at Home has taken a stand against selling pets at Easter time. If you really want a pet, you buy a pet voucher to be redeemed after Easter. They want to stop pets from being purchased on impulse and then later ending up abandoned in a shelter or worse.

This is a responsible action on the part of the store. Every year after Easter the shelters fill up with unwanted bunnies.
That cute little baby bunny will grow up to be a rabbit with complex needs. Many people are not prepared for how much work that means. Making people wait to get their pet gives them time to think over their decision. If they change their minds, the store will give a full refund.

I hope many more stores act as responsibly.

I am very glad to hear that about  Pets at Home.
I hope all other pet stores will follow their example.

Every year the animal shelter fills up with rabbits right after Easter. Once people realize how much work a bunny is they don't want it any more. It would be better to buy the voucher and take the pet home well after Easter.
