I don`t like to suggest that the provincial government is protecting certain people(the farming industry) at the expense of others(animal rights activists), but that is what it looks like.
Indeed, it does look like that! One month and no charges at all?! Not even careless driving, or without due care and attention?
It is not clear whether the driver saw the lady, but if he did and still drove on, then even murder charges could be considered.
