Local artist does pet portraits
#1
A local artist, Olivia Witzke who works as a photographer turned to painting portraits during the pandemic.  She soon started receiving requests for pet portraits.
Some requests were for portraits of family pets who were already gone. She tries to capture the eyes so the essence of the pet shines through.
Her works are beautiful and expressive and they bring joy to the family of the pet. This is especially true  when the pet is gone. Having a portrait that captures the look of the pet is a real comfort. It is a reminder of what a special relationship people had with their pets.

Olivia certainly has a gift. I am sure her photography was beautiful. It is interesting how out of necessity she started doing pet portraits.
It has opened up a whole different area for her and it has provided many people with pet portraits that they really wanted.  It takes a special talent to paint our pet the way we see it and capture its essence. Olivia has that talent. I hope she keeps on painting after the pandemic ends.
