The oldest creatures ever
#1
I have heard of some of these creatures. It is amazing how long some of them have lived. We are not the longest living creature by a long ways.

Too bad about the clam. I hope they can save the Pando.

I had no idea Koi could live to be so old. Even taking into account the errors made in analysis of the scales. I always thought fish only lived a short time....maybe 5 years or so. I had no idea.

Poor Ming! Finding out how old he was killed him! That's quite sad, especially as he'd been around since 1490.

I am sorry about the Pando Aspens. It would be a terrible loss if they were to disappear now after they had lived for so many thousands of years. But it would certainly show us that there is something about this age we are living in which is totally wrong.

I knew about Koi and goldfish. The keep on growing and do not age the way we do. I think there have been other long lived koi. They don't usually die of old age. Other things kill them

Here is another list.

I did not know about the Macaw. I know African Grey Parrots live a long time. I think they live around 70 years. They are also very intelligent.
We are not the longest living creature on the planet and we are not always the smartest. Smiley4
