Pandemic Puppies now being abandoned

Something like this happens every time they use a dog in a movie. Everyone wants that kind of dog. They post pictures and make a big fuss. Anyone who can, breeds puppies of that kind of dog. All of a sudden there are lots of puppies, but the excitement is over and no one wants them. People start dumping their puppies at shelters. This happened after the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Many of those chihuahuas ended up being shipped to Toronto to find homes.

It is happening with the pandemic.  People are dumping their adorable pandemic puppies because they don't want the post pandemic dog. 
There are probably a lot of pregnant dogs out there. Their owners thought they could make some money selling puppies during the lockdowns. By the time those puppies are born they will no longer be wanted. It is an unwanted pet crisis that is going to get worse.

Why can't people stop and think before they buy a pet? Getting a  pet is a serious commitment to look after another creature for the rest of its life.
