Unusual animal surrogate parents

I found a list of unusual animal surrogate parents. Some of them are very unlikely. The instinct for parenting is strong in some individuals. It doesn't seem to matter if the adopted little one is a bit different.

The tortoise adopting the hippo is probably the oddest. A cat with baby squirrels or a dog with ducklings is something you would expect. The dog who adopted an owl is unexpected. It seems that orphaned animals have an appeal can't be resisted.
