New twist in pets in apartments conflict in NSW
#1
In NSW Australia, a new law says that pets can't be banned from apartments. This new law over turns laws that allowed for the banning of pets.
So a health care worker and her family got themselves a dog. The dog can't be banned, but the building management is asking for a $2000.00 bond if they want to keep the dog. That is basically fining them for having a dog.

This bond is a sneaky way of getting around the law. It is not fair and it is not reasonable. If they are going to ask for a bond against possible damage they need to ask a bond from all residents. One person is as likely to do damage as another. Pet owners are as likely to be responsible as anyone else.
If this continues there will need to be more legislation to prevent such actions. People want to live with pets. They are going to fight for the right to have pets.
In the end the sneaky move to fine a pet owner will fail. Too many people want pets. They will fight until they can have pets.
