Many fleeing danger in Ukraine have taken their pets with them. Some of the pictures are heartwarming. Clearly people have deep bonds with their pets and just being with them makes things less scary.

People have even taken their pet hamsters and birds with them. Wherever they end up I hope they are able to stay together in safety.
