Meet the Viscacha

Viscacha are an adorable creature that lives in South America in the southern Andes Mountains.
They look like a cross between an Chinchilla and a rabbit  and they have the cuteness of both They are actually a Chinchilla relative.  
They are funny little sleepy looking creatures who live on the vegetation in the mountains.
Sadly they are at risk because people have decided to eat them and wear their fur.

Is there no animal safe from human predation. How can we choose to eat something so cute and so gentle.
Hopefully they are in enough remote areas to be safe from humans.
