Shelter holds Birthday Party for senior dog.
#1
Loco is a senior dog who came into the shelter with a lot of health problems. Two years later she is much better, but not really adoptable. So, she has been promoted from shelter dog to office dog. She lives in one of the staff offices and interacts with the shelter staff. She has her own beds and lots of attention.
The shelter decided she needed a birthday party. She had a birthday hat, a frilly collar, a birthday banner and a sweet potato cake. She is an older, unadoptable dog, but she is still living the good life and hopefully has many more birthdays ahead of her.

It is good to hear stories about how shelter staff will look after a dog like Loco. Sometimes a dog just can't go to a home. In this case they have found a solution that makes life good for the little dog and it is probably fun for the staff. She will be as loved as the office dog as she would be if she was adopted.
