This needs to be posted. For years it was assumed that female snakes are not really sexual beings with sexual organs. It turns out they have female sexual organs.
That plays a role in their breeding. It effects how the male approaches the female.

What they have discovered fits my observations of my snakes when they breed. My males court the females with a lot of gentle touching.
It is sweet to watch them. They are kind of romantic and clearly bonded with each other.
There is a lot more to snakes than we have recognized in the past.
