50 feral cats rescued by the Okanagan Humane Society
#1
The Okanagan Humane Society was called in to help with a feral cat situation. A property was being over run by cats who had come from next door.
They thought there might be a dozen cats, but after four months of work catching them, there were over 50 cats. They were all in poor health and needed a lot of care before they could be neutered. In all 24 cats and 28 kittens were fixed with the help of a local vet. The kittens have all been adopted out to live happy lived as beloved pets. The adults are being looked after and will not be out there suffering.
There are more feral cat colonies in the Okanagan valley and the Okanagan Humane Society is trying to rescue them.
They rely on donations to do their work and they do the best they can with what they have.

This is a really heroic group of animal rescuers. They didn't let the numbers get them down. They worked for four months to rescue all of this colony of feral cats. They will do the same for any colony they are helping. With kitten season approaching they have a lot of work ahead of them. I wish them every success and hopefully some big donors.
