Parrots taught to make video calls.
#1
Researchers got the idea to teach parrots to make video calls to other parrots. They set it up so they could initiate a call and choose which other parrot to call.
Their behavior was observed carefully. The birds were happier and responded as if they had just had a real social interaction. Parrots are social creatures and video visits with other birds provided that social interaction for a bird living without other birds.

I know they only worked with 18 birds with this study, but the results were pretty strong. Parrots need to talk to other parrots.
Video calling worked. If someone could produce an App that birds could use, a lot of parrots would have much richer lives. They could set up group chats.
I think a zoom meeting with a bunch of parrots would beat any zoom call I have joined in the last few years.
