Beaver dam breaks leaving an area devastated

A beautiful lake surrounded by trees and wildlife is now a barren area after the beaver dam was broken.
When you look at the pictures you will be surprised by how damaged the area is. It could take years to regenerate on its own.
What they need is a beaver to fix the dam and restore the water.

We underestimate just how much beavers can stabilize and ecosystem. The lake and surrounding area have been the same for many years.
Now that the dam is broken, its all gone. Nature will regenerate over a period of years, but a beaver could restore the water right away if it repaired the dam.

I notice the humans don't seem to know what to do. A beaver would be hauling logs and mud and have things fixed in no time. Then the spring rains would refill the lake and everything would be back to normal. 
Maybe they could bring in a beaver from somewhere. Maybe a wildlife rescue has a beaver they want to release. 
without a beaver I don't think they are going to get anything done.
