Chimpanzees contaminated with pesticides and other chemicals
#1
Chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, Uganda were found to be contaminated with pesticides and flame retardant chemicals.
This was determined by studying feces. Three other species of primate were studied with the same results.
It is unclear what the consequences of the contamination will be on the health of the animals.

The chimps probably ingested the chemicals from local farms around the park. That means those farms are contaminated. They should probably test the humans. We live with high levels of chemical contamination in our lives. We expose the environment around us to our chemicals. We have no idea what the long term consequences will be. We didn't really determine if these chemicals were safe to use, we just used them.
Even if they study the chimps and determine the effects of the chemicals, there is really no way to fix the problem.

I wonder what other animals are contaminated and what the consequences will be.
