Swiss volunteers protect sheep and wolves

Wolves have returned to Switzerland. Since they were spotted ki 2012 their numbers have increased. There are now 24 packs and about 250 wolves. 
That means more attacks on sheep grazing alone on the hills at night. This could led to a wolf cull. Wolf hunting rules have  been relaxed.
The group Organization for the Protection of Alpine Pastures has recruited volunteers to protect the wolves and the sheep.
In order to protect the wolves and the sheep, volunteers stay with the sheep on the hills at night. They watch for wolves and scare them off.
About 400 volunteers have chased wolves away every 20 days. The sheep are safe and so are the wolves.

This is a great idea. Shepherds used  to stay with their sheep and protect them. Now people are doing it again. You don't have to kill all the predators to protect your sheep. You just needs a human security guard.

I wonder when it will occur to them that they could get help from dogs.
