Iceland stopped whaling temporarily this summer and it was hoped that this was the end of the cruel practice. It is no longer popular in Iceland. Whales have been found to take hours to die. There is a much lower demand for whale meat. After the temporary ban it made sense to make it permanent.
Instead, Iceland has given the go ahead to resuming whaling. Even the last active whaling company does not plan to renew its license.

Why would they start killing whales again? It has become unpopular and unprofitable. No one wants it and no one is making money from it.
What other reasons do they have for doing it. It is known for sure that whales suffer extremely cruel and prolonged deaths.
So why would they do it.
