Guardians of the Galaxy 3 makes a point about animal cruelty

I have not seen any of the Guardian of the Galaxy movies. PETA has come out in favour of this one, so I will trust their judgement in the area pf animal cruelty.
The origin story of Rocket the Raccoon reveals that he was abused as baby by a cruel experimenter. This is done to make a point about animal experimentation. Any animals in this movie are computer generated so no actual abuse took place.

A movie like this could reach a lot of people about the realities of animal experimentation. The more people who know and understand the truth, the more chance we have of changing things. Maybe I should watch it, in case I need to talk about it.
