Protesters fight against Granville Island rabbit cull
#1
Granville Island is actually a peninsula in Vancouver. It is believed that a pair of domestic rabbits were released in the area. They have multiplied and now they are attracting Coyotes. The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation which manages the island plans to catch and kill the rabbits.
The group Rabbitats Rabbit Rescue is fighting against the cull. If they can catch the rabbits, they could neuter them and find them homes.
They make the point that this would be done differently if it was a group of puppies.

These situations always seem to start with abandoned pets. These rabbits didn't ask to be there. There parents were dumped outside.
Since humans caused this problem, we need to find a humane solution. Culls are never the right answer.
