More than 140 cats were found dumped in the desert near Abu Dhabi. Some were trapped in carriers and some were wandering. About 50 have died so far.
A number were microchipped and could be returned to their families.
It is not clear how they got there. PETA is offering a reward for information.

This was a deliberate act of cruelty. The cats locked in carriers would die of the heat very quickly. I would have been as bad as a hot car.
All the cats would have been scared and distressed. There is no explanation that makes sense for such a senselessly cruel act. I hope they catch whoever did this.
