Rescuing Spanish Greyhounds
#1
A Canadian rescue group, Extraordinary Galgos and Podencos Western Canada has been rescuing Spanish Greyhounds for a year. They take applications for a dog and then they bring the dog over from Spain. It is estimated that 50,000-100,000 Spanish Greyhounds are killed each year. They are often killed in cruel ways or abandoned to starve. Rescue groups work to save as many as they can.

They are a beautiful dog. I have seen one in my neighborhood. Yes it is a rescue from Spain. I walked up and asked the guy.
This is a new group rescuing the Galgos. Hopefully we will see more of these dogs in the country. They are so gentle and so mistreated.
Sadly the new Spanish animal protection law does not even mention the hunting dogs.

I hope there are many more groups like them. The Spanish Greyhounds really need our help.
