City road closes on rainy nights in October for salamander migration
#1
Jefferson Salamanders migrate to their winter habitat on rainy nights in October. There migration route crosses a dangerous road, so the city shuts the road from 9pm-5am on October, on rainy nights. They only migrate on rainy nights.

We put a road right through their territory so it is the least we can do. They are an endangered species and without our help they won't survive.

Don't you wish we would put more thought into where our roads go. Do they always have to put an endangered species at risk?
