Britain's loneliest sheep finally rescued
#1
Fiona the sheep has been living for two years stranded at the bottom of a cliff in Scotland. She was spotted by kayakers in the same place she was seen two years ago. This time 50,000 people signed a petition calling for her rescue. Her owner, the Coast Guard and the Scottish SPCA thought it was to dangerous to try.
Five local farmers got together and came up with a plan. They used an all-terrain vehicle and a winch to lower them selves down to Fiona. She was glad to see them. They used a large hammock to bring her back up.
She probably when down the cliff as a lamb and couldn't get back up.
Right now she is at a petting farm, but there is a push to get her transferred to an animal sanctuary. After a good haircut, Fiona is like a whole new, much lighter sheep. She is actually in good health in spite of her strange location at the bottom of a cliff.

I am glad they rescued her. At some point all that hair was going to be too much for her.
It is just sad that it took so long. Good for those farmers that they found a way to get to her and to bring her up.
If you really want to do rescue an animal, there is a way to do it, somehow.
