Calgary hatched Whooping Cranes released in Wisconson
#1
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo have been working with Whooping Cranes for many years. They have increased their numbers through the breeding program.
There are perhaps 650 Whooping cranes left. This year two the the chicks hatched have been sent to the Wisconsin International Crane Foundation.
With the two new cranes, Wisconsin will have released 9 whooping cranes this year.

It is because of the tireless work of the crane foundations that we still have Whooping Cranes. They have not only kept the species going, they have increased their numbers. When we focus on conservation, we can do amazing things.
