Lion breeding facility shut down
#1
A lion breeding facility in South Africa has been shut down.  The Lions Foundation on South Africa has bought the place and put an end to it as a breeding facility. Seventy big cats were kept in terrible conditions in small cages. The  babies were used for petting zoos. Adults were used for trophy hunting. They sold lion body parts. Animal Survival International was on hand to bring veterinary care to the animals. Now they are working to build better enclosures to house the surviving big cats. They are fundraising to help The Lions Foundation create a suitable space for these rescued animals and other animals that are in their care.

This is a real win for animals in South Africa. These breeding facilities are involved in supplying trophy hunters and supplying body parts for illegal export for traditional medicines. Now these animals will live out their lives in peace in much better conditions. They will be respected and allowed to be the wild animals that they are meant to be. There will be no more babies for petting zoos. It doesn't end well for a baby lion who is used in a petting zoo.
Now this is over and for the cats in this facility life will be much better.
Now we need to shut down all other places like it.
