Injured sea turtle wears a special swim vest
#1
A young Loggerhead turtle was brought in to the South Carolina Aquarium by a couple of fishermen. He was found to have a spinal injury that effected his ability to swim. The aquarium created a special weighted wetsuit that allows him to swim. Because he needs the vest to swim, he can't be released to the wild. The group Turtles Fly Too flew him to Texas. He will live in the outdoor exhibit of the Dallas Children's Aquarium.

He can't return to the wild, but he can educate people about sea turtles for the rest of his long life.
It is unfortunate that the turtle was injured, but he is being given the best life possible. Good for the fishermen that they brought him in to be looked after. He wouldn't have survived without that help.
